BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for auditing the products and processes at various points in the areas of production and packaging to ensure adherence to company quality standards. Communicate any deviations to management. Assist the Quality Assurance team with special projects as required. Comply with Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough and detailed quality audits of lines to ensure products meet established quality standards.
  • Monitor changeover activities and be able to resolve issues of varying complexity.
  • Equipment verification including scales, magnets, etc.
  • Audit paperwork of operators to ensure they are meeting quality standards
  • Report any deviations to FSQA Manager in complete appropriate details.
  • Report any housekeeping issues that need attention.
  • Document all areas of non-compliance and ensure corrective action to eliminate them.
  • Work with Production Managers, Supervisors, and hourly associates on daily issues and problems
  • Utilize computer to enter and track result data
  • Comply with Food Safety Plan (HACCP), Food Quality Plan (FQP) standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to FDA and cGMP standards for Quality Control, including continuous training.
  • Responsible for holding products that are not meeting company quality standards and provide the appropriate dispositions.
  • Conduct EMP and Allergen Swabbing.
  • Responsible for reviewing incoming COAs for raw materials and packaging.
  • Responsible for sample collection, data analysis, and data compilation of COAs.
  • Participate in all necessary training is required to successfully perform job responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • For business and safety reasons, must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written English.
  • High School Diploma. BS in Food Science or related major is preferred.

  • Maintains the quality and integrity of processing and packaging equipment to ensure good safe condition and operating order.
  • Provides technical support and hands-on guidance to Working Foremen and Production Associates as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls and basic PLC problems with equipment, taking corrective action to minimize downtime.

  • Electrical and mechanical installation of new equipment, including frequency drives, HMI, pneumatic, hydraulic and compressed air.

We’re looking for a financial controller with manufacturer experience and strong analytical skills to support our fast-paced entrepreneurial company as we scale production. As a lean, early stage operation, rolling up our sleeves and completing the job at hand, whether that job is part of our formal job description or not, are inherent to all of our roles. Victory Hemp Foods is developing a domestic supply chain and product portfolio for primary hemp seed-based ingredients by contracting with farmers, processing hemp seeds and bringing them to specific markets as highly functional food ingredients that surpass sensory expectations. The initial proprietary primary ingredients V-70™ and V-ONE™ are in high demand for sensory and nutritional excellence. We will continue to develop new ingredients from the hemp seed to maximize value creation

The R&D Associate Scientist will ask questions, develop tests, and capture data to provide quantitative answers clearly presented in clear plain language to management. This information will inform decisions on product and process development, financial management, food safety and quality, and optimized commercial processing. This position reports to the Director of Research and Development but will interact with the entire organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in a physical science or other STEM field, or 4 years laboratory experience.
  • Must be able to travel between the offsite production facilities and the main office up to 25% (may be up to 50% during production start-ups).
  • Must be able to travel internationally.
  • Ability to bend and twist, lift 25lbs, and be on your feet for up to 4 hours consecutively.

ASSOCIATE FOOD INNOVATION SCIENTIST, INGREDIENT TECHNOLOGY & PROCESS DEVELOPMENT – LOUISVILLE, KY

Victory Hemp Foods creates uniquely high-function ingredients that deliver the nutritional power of hemp in attractive formats, all grown by American Farmers. We will create the most value from the hemp seed to profitably lead hemp toward becoming a major commodity crop. Our goal is to purchase at least 1 million acres of hemp seed by 2030.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The goal of the position is to lead lab development of new, high-value, proprietary ingredients from the hemp seed and participate in scaling production from the benchtop to production, as part of the New Product Development team. You will drive development and commercialization of the Victory Hemp Foods product portfolio to provide formulators with ideal primary ingredients in a format that supports a broad category of applications from meat and dairy analog, and baked and beverage products within food; and ingredients across skin care, nutraceutical, pet and other major categories. Responsibilities include:

          • Conduct and lead assessment and capability studies, product commercialization. Provide on-site support to production when needed.
          • Gain alignment and collaborate across functional groups in R&D, Marketing and Procurement to create proposals for new ingredient research and development projects.
          • Proactively communicate with stakeholders across the organization. Ability and comfort to interact and influence at all levels in the organization and across functions.
          • Execute experiments to systematically characterize functional properties such as but not limited to solubility, gelation, emulsification, rheology etc. of hemp proteins, oil and fiber ingredients and their performance in target product applications.
          • Provide leadership to 1-3 research associates and interns as required.
          • Recommend purchasing of equipment.
          • Participate in establishing, improving and adhering to and fulfill policies, procedures and reporting requirements for all relevant Environment, Health and Safety regulations; local, state and federal food safety regulations; GMP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); SQF, BRC and/or customer food safety requirements and other third-party inspections; and Non-GMO, Kosher, USDA Organic and other quality certifications.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

…an experienced Associate Food Innovation Scientist to further build on the work of our tech team and take the lead on the ongoing development and commercialization of new products. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of bench top sample production, ongoing ingredient format development, and, working with production and quality teams, the translation of that lab knowledge to production scale equipment and processes.

Victory Hemp Foods is seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to become our Plant Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of safe and nutritious hemp-based food ingredients. This role requires you to be a hands-on leader, responsible for all aspects of site production operations, including employee safety, execution of product quality and food safety plans, and efficient operations.

Victory Hemp Foods is a start-up. The Plant Manager will need to operate in and shape a dynamic environment while maintaining focus on top priorities.  As the Plant Manager, you will be required to roll up your sleeves and wear many hats. As operations and business volumes increase, you will shed some responsibilities to more specialized employees. The Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, has well developed knowledge of mechanical equipment, food processing, safety protocols, 3rd party certification processes, material handling, planning and storage.

          • Must have previous management or supervisor experience in plant operations.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Victory Hemp Foods (VHF) is seeking an experienced Food Safety and Quality Manager to join an exciting hemp food ingredient company. As leader of an early stage, lean, startup operation, the FS/QA Manager will be expected to wear many hats in the initial growth period but will shed responsibilities to more specialized employees as the company grows. It is important that you are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done, but also able to effectively manage a team of quality professionals.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has well developed knowledge of food processing, food safety, 3rd party certifications including Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, USDA Organic, GFSI and more, agricultural supply chains, and material handling, planning and storage. The FS/QA Manager must be willing and able to directly interact with FDA, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO and other 3rd parties. The FS/QA Manager must be comfortable communicating the mission of Victory Hemp Foods to stakeholders including board members, investors and customers. This person will demonstrate evidence based decision making, possess grit, listens to others, owns their work, is able to see the big picture, assumes positive intent from others, and prioritizes the needs of the company and team.

BASIC FUNCTION
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership, direction, and execution of all plant food safety functions to support the company’s food safety goals, the company’s statement of quality and ensure regulatory compliance. Ensures all products produced meet or exceed all customer, regulatory, and company requirements as they relate to food safety. Directs the plant Food Safety and Quality Departments in selecting, developing, and motivating food safety team members to achieve organizational goals. Acts as plant authority on all food safety and quality matters to ensure product safety and quality is always maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages all activities of the Food Safety department in a manner which results in consistent food safety results as measured through the company matrix and regulatory mandates.
  • Expert abilities and decision making for Food Safety, Regulatory and Quality Challenges.
  • Develops, documents and implements food safety processes and procedures to ensure product safety is always monitored and maintained.
  • Leads all food safety and regulatory efforts at the plant.
  • Serves as the catalyst for leading continuous quality improvement and Company’s QIP through technology and scientific research in an effort to develop the plant’s food safety program(s) and quality to industry best.
  • Influence development steps used in the innovation and commercialization process to leverage design and achieve consumer safety and quality objectives, and drives improvement of consumer-based specifications.
  • Guides company Quality Standards, Systems and Quality Policies.
  • Enforces the company’s food safety standards as outlined in the plants HACCP, GMP and GFSI standards and other programs. Maintains the required documentation.
  • Provides leadership and is an active member of project teams to ensure food safety concerns are addressed at assigned plants.
  • Maintains open communications with plant management, sales and marketing staff to ensure each are aware of any potential food safety related concerns with product or product requirements and specifications.
  • Develops a professional working relationship and acts as a plant liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Develops staff through appropriate mentoring and continuing education efforts. Ensures the company’s food safety programs are properly communicated and plant associates have a working knowledge of the programs through training and mentoring.
  • Provides timely, accurate and relevant data and analysis to plant and corporate management.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with urgency via prioritization and program management skills.
  • Embodies knowledge and general business acumen to support and influence Marketing and R&D.
  • Engage in development and standardization of quality manuals, policies, procedures, data templates, audit standards and procedures.
  • Maintains Statistical Process Control Programs, and performs design of experiments and process capability studies.
  • Ability to drive organizational alignment on Quality objectives with an enterprise-wide mindset, and the adaption of structure, processes and system to achieve objectives.
  • Assertive yet collaborative. Demonstrated skills influencing components of the company, tough-mindedness, vision, and political savvy to manage internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum education: BS Food Science or related STEM field, MS preferred

Years of relevant quality experiences: 8 or more

Years of Quality Supervisory Experience: 5 or more; previous experience as Quality Manager is preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We’re looking for an experienced Inside Sales Manager who can handle customer service preferably with experience in ingredient sales in food and beverage and/or personal care. The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for nurturing inbound leads, and developing leads into customers of our award winning products. The Inside Sales Manager manages our CRM and maintains all data entry related to customers and inbound customer workflows. In addition to managing customer relations, the Inside Sales Manager must maintain a high level of excellent customer service that includes promptly replying to emails, phone calls, facilitating meeting requests, processing orders, organizing outbound logistics, fulfilling and tracking sample requests, all with a positive attitude that conveys the culture and mission of the company to customers. The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for working closely with the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team to respond to and remediate any food safety and quality compliance issues. The Inside Sales Manager will also work with Marketing to align sales and marketing objectives. 

Most importantly, this person will value maintaining a food safety culture, possess grit, advocate for positive environmental outcomes, use science to make data-driven decisions, put the needs of the company and team first, and assume positive intent of others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages company CRM and expands prospect pipeline through properly growing and categorizing leads.
  • Maintains deep knowledge of the sales pipeline, while properly growing and categorizing prospect data.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining processes to effectively manage customer service and inside sales experience.
  • Builds relationships and engages individual / industry contacts and existing customers.
  • Provides monthly reports on Sales KPIs.
  • Lives by and refines established sales SOP and tracking system.
  • Able to reach quantifiable quarterly and annual milestones by executing customer service and sales strategy.
  • Schedules follow-ups with customers via email, video conferencing, in-person meetings, and phone.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

          • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and work on feet all day
